Lines & wrinkles

Begin with understanding.

Lines and wrinkles are a natural part of how a face changes over time. How they develop — and how someone feels about them — is individual.

At Élan, the first step is a consultation to understand what concerns you and consider whether treatment is appropriate.

Understanding your concerns

Every face changes differently.

Facial lines can develop for different reasons and may change over time. Facial movement, anatomy and changes associated with ageing all contribute to the way an individual face looks.

For some people, particular lines become something they would like to discuss. For others, no treatment is wanted or necessary.

The consultation is about understanding what concerns you rather than assuming what should be changed.

Your consultation

The consultation comes first.

Your consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns, expectations and relevant medical history.

01 — Your concerns

What you notice, what concerns you and what you hope to achieve.

02 — Assessment

Relevant facial anatomy, proportions and movement are considered as part of the assessment.

03 — Options

If treatment may be appropriate, the available options, limitations, potential risks and alternatives will be discussed with you.

04 — Your decision

There is no assumption that consultation will lead to treatment. You can decide whether you wish to proceed after receiving the information relevant to you.

The Élan approach

Not every line needs treating.

The objective of aesthetic medicine is not to remove every visible sign of age or expression.

At Élan, recommendations are based on the individual rather than an ideal of how a face should look. Sometimes that may mean considering treatment. Sometimes it may mean recommending less — or no treatment at all.

Expression is part of what makes a face individual.
