Dermal fillers
Restore. Refine. Balance.
Dermal fillers can be used to address changes in facial volume, proportion and structure. At Élan, treatment is planned around the individual — their anatomy, facial proportions and what they hope to achieve.

Understanding dermal fillers
A considered approach to volume and proportion.
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to add or restore volume in selected areas of the face. They can also be used to refine facial proportions and support facial structure.
Treatment should not be approached as a standard formula. Facial anatomy, existing proportions, movement and the changes that occur with age vary considerably between individuals.
At Élan, these factors are assessed before any treatment is recommended.
Treatment areas
Every face requires a different approach.
Depending on individual anatomy and concerns, dermal filler treatment may be considered for areas where changes in volume, contour or proportion are relevant.
Cheeks & mid-face
Volume and structural support in the mid-face.
Lips
Consideration of volume, shape and proportion while respecting the natural anatomy of the lips.
Chin & lower face
Treatment may be considered where appropriate to facial balance and proportion.
Facial lines & folds
Selected lines and folds may be considered as part of an assessment of the face as a whole.
Not every area requires treatment. Recommendations are made following individual assessment.
Your consultation
Treatment begins with understanding.
Your consultation is an opportunity to discuss what concerns you and what you hope to achieve.
Facial anatomy, proportions and relevant medical history are considered before treatment options are discussed. The consultation also provides an opportunity to understand the proposed treatment, its limitations, potential risks and alternatives.
There is no assumption that consultation will lead to treatment. If treatment is not considered appropriate, it will not be recommended.
Treatment & aftercare
Care continues beyond the appointment.
If treatment is agreed, the treatment plan will be based on the consultation and individual assessment.
Temporary effects such as swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising can occur following dermal filler treatment. Individual recovery varies, and appropriate aftercare advice will be provided following treatment.
You will also be given information about when and how to contact the clinic if you have concerns following your treatment.
Safety
Informed decisions matter.
Dermal filler treatment is a medical procedure and carries potential risks as well as benefits.
Possible complications vary according to the product, treatment area and individual. Rare but serious complications can occur, including inadvertent injection into a blood vessel, which requires urgent recognition and treatment.
The relevant risks, expected effects, limitations and alternatives will be discussed as part of the consultation and consent process before treatment is undertaken.
Patients should seek medical advice promptly if they experience unexpected or concerning symptoms following treatment.
